The coming of age to a journey within, Kathy My Thi created this artwork with nothing in mind but to the fleeting feeling of freedom and vastness. This art is the first finished painting of her work as an artist and challenged her after a dark night of the soul, to take the leap into discovery of her life calling as a painter.
The clouds rendered in delicate layers of translucent paint, exudes a sense of movement and fluidity, seamlessly with softness. Within their ever-shifting forms, one discerns subtle shapes and figures, elusive yet invites a sense of clarity, the glimpse of the divine and the boundless. Intertwined with the clouds are subtle hints of a silver line, to which silver metal flakes were added, as a portrayal of a glimmer of hope. 'Reaching For The Sky' invites us to look beyond the confines of our earthly existence, to journey into the divine spark and inspire to embrace the journey within.

Years it was created was from 2019-2022. 'Reaching For The Sky' took 4 years to finish and during the four years of the work, a symphony called out to her in the midst of every day hustle bustle and held her in the quiet stillness inwards.
