Innovating The Art
Kathy My This art technique known as Silk Oil Threading brings a creative spin on silk texture. This technique uses oil paint to create delicate, silky textures that resemble the softness, luminous, and movement of silk fabric. The development of Silk Oil Threading is influenced by her Vietnamese roots and cultural heritage, drawing inspiration from the elegance of silk, a material closely associated with traditional Vietnamese attire.
Her plein air landscape paintings are inspired from the natural landscapes of California, along the coast, green valleys, and rose bush flower gardens, capturing moments of serenity, movement, and atmosphere. She mostly develops her work from her indoor studio, where she continues to blend atmospheric texture and light into her artistic process.
